Development of a case study on Trade, Circular Economy and Plastic action in Ghana
World Economic Forum
Global Plastic Action Partnership (GPAP)
The World Economic Forum’s Platform for Shaping the Future of Trade and Global Economic Interdependence and the Global Plastic Action Partnership contracted Circularium Africa Advisory as lead consultants to deliver a targeted case study illustrating the manifold opportunities for trade to serve as a lever for the circular economy, using plastic action in Ghana as a case study.
The four-month project entailed an in-depth analysis of the upstream and downstream sectors of the plastics value chain as well as plastic trade and plastic waste policies, regulations and initiatives in Ghana; benchmarking of best practices in plastic management; and proffering insight-driven and actionable recommendations, including plastic waste management and related industrial and trade policies, regulations and other measures, that Ghana can adopt to foster a circular economy for plastics and support her industrialization plan.
The project was executed in collaboration with Tulip Consulting, a Geneva-based trade law and policy consultants. Click here to read the peer-reviewed case study.

Establishment of the National Plastic Action Partnership in Nigeria
Global Plastic Action Partnership (GPAP)
Federal Ministry of Environment, Nigeria
Following Nigeria’s membership of the Global Plastic Action Partnership (GPAP), an initiative of the World Economic Forum to accelerate global response to the plastic waste pollution crisis, Circularium Africa Advisory was contracted as consultants to provide strategic advisory and support to the GPAP in establishing the National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP) in Nigeria in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Environment (FME).
